The assassination of President John F. Kennedy occurred over 50 years ago on November 22, 1963, and the world may finally have an answer to who really did it.

The decades-long mystery seems to have been solved by the people at X-Men: Days of Future Past, whose findings point to the mutant Eric Lensherr/Magneto (Ian McKellen/Michael Fassbender). According to the clip below, Magneto’s ability to manipulate and generate magnetic fields allowed him to alter the trajectory of Lee Harvey Oswald’s second bullet, in what’s been called the “bent bullet” theory. Close examination of amateur photos from Dealey Plaza show Lensherr/Magneto on the grassy knoll.

Even if Lensherr/Magneto did do it, why would he? How did the Warren Commission find hard evidence against him? Learn more about this conspiracy (one of the 1,283 conspiracy theories regarding JFK’s assassination) at The Bent Bullet. A very impressive and well-done site, I might add.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters May 23, 2014.
