ZatoichoBoxBarnes & Noble’s semi-annual 50% off Criterion sale has rolled back around for the season.

Old and new, DVD and Blu-ray, the sale applies to every Criterion disc as long as it’s in print and on hand (that means no pre-orders), and it applies to in-store discs and the online catalog.

Barnes and Noble hasn’t said how long the sale lasts, but expect it to run at least a couple of weeks and possibly through the end of November. If that’s the case, it might mean that you can pick up Criterion’s upcoming Blu-ray+DVD combo mega-set Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman, which retails at $224.95, come November 26.

In the meantime, there are still over 800 Blu-ray and DVD releases to choose from. It’s the disc sale that collectors wait for to fill in their collections or take a chance on something they passed on the first time around. And with its holiday timing, it’s a great opportunity to go gift shopping for your cinephile (and Cinephiled) friends.
