Ms. 45, Abel Ferrara’s 1981 down and dirty grindhouse revenge classic, is coming back to theaters more than 30 thanks to Drafthouse Films.
Zoë Lund made her debut as the mute garment-district seamstress who transforms herself into an avenging angel of death in red lipstick, hunting down male predators on the streets of New York, and Ferrara announced his arrival with this feminist twist on Death Wish with a Taxi Driver-on-acid sensibility.
Drafthouse has remastered the film in HD from the original negative materials and debuts its revival on December 13 at Alamo Drafthouse locations and other select theaters across the country.
A DVD and Blu-ray release is slated to follow in March, which will present the complete, uncut version on American home video for the first time.
Drafhouse has commissioned a striking new poster for the occasion.
