When the finalists for the 86th Academy Award were announced Thursday morning, Gravity came out as one of the front-runners with 10 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Sandra Bullock) and Best Director (Alfonso Cuarón).
Warner has now announced that Gravity will arrive on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, VOD,On Demand, and Digital HD on February 25, less than a week before the Academy Awards are handed out on March 2.
All disc editions will feature the companion short film Aningaaq, directed by Jonás Cuarón (son of Alfonso and co-writer of Gravity), the featurette “Collision Point: The Race to Clean Up Space” narrated by Ed Harris, and explorations of the visual effects of the film among the supplements. Blu-ray releases will also include a bonus UltraViolet Digital HD edition.

SYNOPSIS
Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (Clooney) in command. But on a seemingly routine mission, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalski completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the darkness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.
But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
