Bare knuckle brawling, backwoods drug dealing, bad gambling debts, and rust-belt desperation are stirred into a combustible mixture in Out of the Furnace, filmmaker Scott Cooper’s sophomore feature after Crazy Heart. This concoction is brewed from volatile ingredients, including Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana and Sam Shepard.
Out of the Furnace opens in theaters on Friday, Dec. 6 and Cinephiled is teaming up with Relativity Media to give away one Out of the Furnace prize package with five Blu-rays and a survival kit featuring a jacket, gloves, short-knit beanie and a 26 piece deluxe tool kit, all branded with the film logo.
The movies don’t have the logo, of course. They feature the film’s stars: Christian Bale in The Fighter, Woody Harrelson in The People vs. Larry Flynt, Casey Affleck in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Forest Whitaker in The Last King of Scotland and Willem Dafoe in Platoon.
